Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist Senior defender Laura Riesenbeck earned the final Heart Defensive Player of the Week award, which was announced by the conference office Monday.
This marks the second time the native of Beverstedt, Germany has won the award, as she was also recognized back on Oct. 3.
Riesenbeck led Central to two shut out victories last week, including a 6-0 shut out win over Mount Mercy on Oct. 31, and a 1-0 shut out over Park in the Heart Tournament Semifinals Saturday.
In addition, she also assisted on the game winning goal against the Pirates.
Riesenbeck and the Eagles are seeking their fourth-straight Heart Tournament Championship, where they will play the winner of Missouri Valley/MNU Friday, Nov. 11 at 5:00 p.m. at Davis Field for the title.
