Canton, Mo. - The No. 8 Central Methodist Women's Soccer program cruised to a 5-0 victory over Culver-Stockton College Saturday night in Canton, Mo.
With the victory, Central improves to 12-2-1 and 8-0-1 in conference play, while the Wildcats drop to 6-9-1 and 4-6-0 in the Heart.
Senior forward Roneisha Frank got to work quickly in the opening six minutes of the match, scoring her 13th goal of the year off the assist from Marcella Helena.
Both teams would remain scoreless for through the next 31 minutes of play, before Sandra Jakobsen pushed Central's lead to 2-0 with a score. She was assisted by Laura Riesenbeck.
The final goal of the first half came via Marcella Helena in the 42nd minute. She also converted on a penalty kick 13 minutes into the second half to give CMU a 4-0 lead.
Raquel Ferreira notched her first goal of the season off a corner kick from Maria Cervello to seal the victory for Central in the 76th minute.
The Eagles finished the evening with 26 shots including 14 on goal, compared to just five shots and two shots on goal for Culver-Stockton. Frank led the offense with seven shots, with two coming on goal, followed by Helena with six shots, five on goal.
Helena also earned a brace and an assist.
Central concludes its three-game road trip against Baker University Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 5:00 p.m. in Baldwin City, Kan.
