Eagles Jump to No. 6 in Latest NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll

Eagles Jump to No. 6 in Latest NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll

Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist women's soccer program jumped one spot to No. 6 in the latest NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll, released by the national office this week.

Other Heart programs featured or mentioned in the Top 25 include; No. 13 Missouri Valley, (RV) MidAmerica Nazarene and (RV) Benedictine College.

Central holds a 5-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in conference play. The Eagles kicked off Heart action with a 2-0 victory over MNU this past Wednesday, and secured a Top 10 victory over No. 9 Aquinas back on August 28.

The Eagles are set to hit the road to face the Clarke Pride Saturday, Sept. 17 at 11:00 a.m. in Dubuque, Iowa.

To view the poll methodology and the complete Top 25 poll, please see below.

Poll Methodology

  • The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences, Continental Athletic Conference (Independents) and Unaffiliated Groups.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low ratings) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appears on.
  • Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes."
