St. Louis, Mo. - The No. 3 Central Methodist Women's Soccer program fell to No. 7 Marian (Ind.) by a final score of 2-1 Saturday afternoon in St. Louis, Mo. 

With the defeat, Central falls to 3-2 overall, while the Knights improve to 3-0-1. 

After a scoreless opening 38 minutes of play, it appeared that both sides would enter the halftime break scoreless. However, a goal by Marian's Kiley Jones 39 minutes in would give the Knight's a 1-0 lead at halftime. 

Marian padded its lead just six minutes into the second half via a goal from Naomi Walters. Trailing 2-0, Central battled back to cut the lead in half on a header from Roneisha Frank with the assist coming from Sandra Jakobsen in the 61st minute. 

Despite eight shots for Central from that point on, they were unable to put any through to the back of the net, as Marian held on for the 2-1 victory. 

Central produced twice as many shots as Marian, finishing the afternoon with 15 shots including eight on goal compared to seven shots and three on goal for the Knights. 

Marcella Helena led the CMU offense with four shots and two on goal, while Alicia Zamora and Frank each recorded three shots. 

Central concludes non-conference action against Missouri Baptist Thursday, Sept. 8 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Louis, Mo.
