Fayette, Mo. - No. 5 CMU Women's Soccer posted their fifth consecutive shut out with a 3-0 win over Grand View Wednesday night at Davis Field.
With the win, Central improves their overall record to 11-1 and remains undefeated in conference play at 8-0. The Vikings fall to 8-4-1 and 5-2-1.
Roneisha Frank put the Eagles out front in the 10th minute of play with a goal on the assist from Kitti Torok. Central would hold the 1-0 advantage over the Vikings heading into the locker room.
CMU would not score again until the 73rd minute, as Marcella Helena sent a high cross into the box which found the foot of Celine Witt. Witt tapped the ball into the near post, giving Central a 2-0 lead with her first goal of 2021.
Zoe Jessen put the finishing touches on the match 10 minutes later with the first goal of her senior campaign.
Witt led the offense, tallying five total shots, including three on goal and a goal scored in her first career start. The duo of Sandra Jakobsen and Frank each collected four shots and two on goal.
As a team, Central tallied 26 total shots with 12 coming on goal. The Eagles' defense continues solid play, as they held the Vikings to only one shot on the evening.
CMU continues conference play with a road trip to face Graceland University Saturday, Oct. 16 at 6:00 p.m. in Lamoni, Iowa.
