Kansas City, Mo. - After another stellar outing on the pitch, Central Methodist women's soccer senior midfielder Andrea Villar was tabbed as the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the national office Tuesday. She is the first player in program history to earn NAIA National Player of the Week honors.
The native of Madrid, Spain scored six goals for the Eagles last week and netted her second-straight four-goal match in the contest against Evangel Wednesday. She followed that up with two more goals in the win over William Penn on Sept. 25.
Villar has tallied an impressive 17 goals so far this season, more than doubling her career total in just eight matches in 2021. The No. 8 Eagles are currently 7-1 overall this season and a perfect 4-0 in conference action.
CMU will next host No. 22 Benedictine College Wednesday, Sept. 29 at 5:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
