KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second time in her career, Luci Brasil (SR/Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) was named Heart Women's Soccer defensive player of the week, the conference office announced on Monday.
Her last weekly award came on Sept. 18, 2017 after scoring a bicycle kick during a win over No. 3 Benedictine.
Brasil anchored the defense that allowed only two shots on goal in a win over No. 18 MidAmerica Nazarene that clinched Central Methodist's second conference title in the past three years. The Eagles also finished the regular season as the only team in the NAIA without a loss or tie, emerging as the only team to make it through conference play unbeaten and untied since the Heart expanded in 2015.
The Eagles picked up the No. 1 seed in the Heart Women's Soccer Conference Championship and will play No. 8 seed Clarke on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6 PM.
