With the victory, Central Methodist improves to 8-4-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. With the loss, Culver-Stockton falls to 8-4-1 overall and 3-3-0 in The Heart.

Both teams used the first half to feel each other out and see if they could find any weaknesses in the others defense. The Wildcats and the Lady Eagles went into halftime tied at zero.

In the second half, the Lady Eagles offense struck in the 59th minute, when Fernanda Ramirez scored off of a deflection to give CMU the 1-0 lead.

That lead would hold until the latter stages of the contest, when the Lady Eagles look for some insurance. Fernanda Ramirez sent a pass to Rachel Topliss who scored to make it 2-0 in favor of Central Methodist. CMU would hold on to win by that 2-0 margin.

Amy Clason-Messina picked up the victory in goal, while recording a pair of saves.

The Lady Eagles return to action this Saturday, when they host Benedictine College at 5pm at Davis Field. The men's match will follow around 7:30pm.
