Baker Outstrikes Lady Eagles
Fayette, Mo. The Central Methodist University women's soccer team fell to the Baker University Wildcats on Saturday afternoon by a final of 2-0 at Davis Field in Fayette, Missouri.

With the loss, Central Methodist University falls to 3-4-1 on the season and 0-1-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. With the victory, Baker; who is currently receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 National Poll improves to 6-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play on the season.

In a game that started off very slow, Baker controlled the tempo as the game moved on and crushed the Lady Eagles in their home. Baker outshot CMU 19-5 and put 11 shots on goal, to just three for the Lady Eagles.

Baker got the scoring started in the first half, when Taylor Yates found Kady Dieringer for the game's first goal. The Wildcats would hold onto that 1-0 lead going into halftime.

In the second half, Baker struck for their second goal of the game in the 62nd minute. Keeley Atkin sent in a shot following a free kick from Taylor Yates for the game's final goal.

The Lady Eagles remain at Davis Field, when they host the Missouri Valley Vikings this Wednesday September 23rd to close out this season long five match homestand. The men will open play up at 5pm, followed by the women at 7:30pm.
