MARSHALL, Mo. - Missouri Valley defeated Central Methodist 3-0 on Tuesday in Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) action at Gregg-Mitchell Field. The Vikings tallied all their scoring in the first 17 minutes of the match.
Kendra Clamors scored the first goal for Missouri Valley (9-3-1, 2-1) in the fifth minute with the first of two Maria Del Carmen Blasco assists on the night. Blasco made the score 2-0 in the 10th minute with aid from Danielle Penuna. Blasco's second assist Tuesday went to Andrea Garcia, who concluded the scoring in the 17th minute.
Nicki Noreen, Jamie Krediet and Kelsey Vanzant each had one shot on goal for Central Methodist (8-2-3, 1-2).�
Vikings' goalkeeper Irene Sanchez (8-3-1) made three saves in 90 minutes.
Eagles' goalkeeper and reigning HAAC Defensive Player of the Week Sam Savio (8-2-3) recorded three saves in 84:31. Nikki Fleischmann played the final 5:29 in net.
Central Methodist travels to No. 18 Benedictine (Kan.) on Saturday, Oct. 18, for a 5 p.m. CT kickoff.
