Savio named HAAC Defensive POW

KANSAS CITY For the second time this season, Central Methodist goalkeeper Sam Savio has been selected the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Savio recorded two clean sheets and only had to make two saves in each match for the Eagles in 3-0 wins over Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) and Avila (Mo.). The senior from St. Louis made played 81:39 against the Lynx and followed up by going the distance against Avila.�

In her first season as a goalkeeper, Savio (8-1-3), with six clean sheets to her credit, leads the HAAC and ranks 27th in the NAIA in fewest goals allowed per game (0.72).�
