Women's Soccer signs four players
FAYETTE, Mo. - Baylee Bellers, Nikki Fleischmann, Jenna Hellebusch and Kelsey Kalish have signed to play for the Central Methodist women's soccer team for the 2013 season, head coach Dan Schmidlin announced.

Bellers, a 5'7 defender from Eureka High School in Eureka, Mo., led her team to a conference and district championship in 2010 and second place conference finish in 2011. Her club team, Saint Louis Scott Gallagher, is ranked eighth in the state of Missouri.

"We have watched Bayley play multiple times and she fits our system and style very well," Schmidlin said. "She has great speed and will help us tremendously as an attacking outside back. Her energy and passion for soccer is contagious, and we are very excited to coach her and watch her develop as a student-athlete over the next four years."

Fleischmann, a 5'7 goalkeeper from Fox High School in Arnold, Mo., plays club soccer for WC Saint Louis Arsenal.

"We have watched Nikki in several top club tournaments, and she is very athletic and quick in the net," Schmidlin commented. "Nikki is a great addition to our program. We have two very good goalkeepers (Brittany Andert and Meredith Brick) returning for next season, and it will be a very competitive position this upcoming fall. We look for Nikki to compete the moment she arrives to CMU."

Hellebusch is a 5'2 midfielder from Saint Francis Borgia High School in Washington, Mo.

"Jenna adds tremendous depth to our team," Schmidlin remarked. "She suffered a knee injury last year but is now fully released to play again. She is very excited to get back on the field and start training and playing games again. Jenna has great character and is extremely coachable. She is a skillful player and will have time to work on her match fitness level this spring with her high school team so she will enter preseason camp in great shape. We are excited about the enthusiasm she will bring to our team."

Kalish, a 5'4 midfielder from Fort Zumwalt North High School in O'Fallon, Mo., has been named to the Gateway Athletic Conference All-Academic team for the last three seasons. She also plays club soccer Saint Louis NORCO.

"We have seen Kelsey play several times in big showcases, and she adds a lot to our program," Schmidlin said. "Kelsey is a versatile player who can play anywhere in the midfield or on the back line. She has a great understanding of how the game should be played, and we are excited to coach her for the next four years. She will continue to develop a lot in our program."

Central Methodist finished the 2012 campaign 11-7 and has posted a 25-10-2 record over the last two seasons.
