FULTON, Mo. - Central Methodist University women's soccer forward Kayla Leeser continued her recent offensive dominance, scoring two goals and one assist in Tuesday night's 5-0 blitzing of Westminster College.�
The reigning Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week has scored a team-high 12 goals this season, including eight in the last five matches.
Leeser scored the first two goals four minutes into the game for the Eagles (10-5) with two assists by Shawn Beard.
Kelsey Vanzant tallied the third goal of the match in the 24th minute with an assist from Leeser. The goal was Vanzant's fifth of 2012.
Lindsey Boyer recorded her first two collegiate goals in the 43rd and 90th minutes to round out the scoring. Ashley Bundren fed Boyer with a long cross into the box on the final goal.
Reigning HAAC Defensive Player of the Week Meredith Brick made two saves from her goalkeeper position in 64:24 of action. Goalkeeper Brittany Andert played the final 25:36 as both net minders combined for the team's fifth shutout of the year.�
Goalkeeper Cassie Rossman had 10 saves for the Blue Jays (2-12).
The Green and Black outshot the home team 28-4, including 20-1 in the first 45 minutes. The Eagles also held the edge in corner kicks 10-0.
Central Methodist travels to Lindenwood University-Belleville on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT.
