PARKVILLE, Mo. - Park University used three second-half goals to defeat Central Methodist University, 5-0, Tuesday night in women's soccer action at Julian Field.
The Pirates (3-5) outshot the Eagles (5-2), 18-11.
The home team scored the first goal in the 16th minute.�Alexandria Erickson found the back of the net from 10 yards out with assists from Dana Hemmingsen and Mikayla Fisher. Nichole�Hemmingsen scored in the 45th minute on an assist from Dana Hemmingsen. Cara Lightle, Kathyrn Dykes and Shnell Briscoe scored goals in the 56th, 60th and 79th minutes, respectively.
Kayla Leeser led Central Methodist with four shots, with three of those on goal. Kelsey Vanzant had two shots, including one on goal. Reigning Heart of America Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week Lindie Adair tallied one shot.
Ellen Ghirardi made six saves in goal for Park.
Defending Heart of America Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week Brittany Andert had three saves in the net for the Green and Black in approximately 60 minutes of action. Goalkeeper Meredith Brick made two saves in just over 30 minutes of playing time.
The Eagles held the edge in corner kick, seven to one.
Central Methodist, which is in the middle of a six-game road trip, will stop at Bethany College on Thursday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT.
