CMUs Leeser Named to All-America Team
Central Methodist University junior forward Kayla Leeser (St. Peters, Mo.) was named to the College Division Capital One Academic All-America Soccer Second Team announced Monday by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Leeser was the lone women's soccer player from the Heart of American Athletic Conference (HAAC) selected to the College Division Academic All-America teams. Leeser received the honor after earning a 3.92 grade-point average. She is majoring in biology with a minor in chemistry.

She was named the HAAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week Oct. 10. Leeser had 11 goals and seven assists on the season. She also led the team in shots and shots on goal, with 70 and 38.

In 2011, Leeser was honored as an HAAC Scholar-Athlete as well as receiving the Excellence in Chemistry Award. She is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and is on the Dean's List.

To be nominated for the Capital One Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.30 while having reached sophomore athletic and academic standings.
