Quincy, Ill. - The Central Methodist University women's golf team finished in second place at the Spring Lake Country Club Invite Monday afternoon in Quincy, Ill.
The one-day, one-round event featured 24 golfers from five different schools including; Central Methodist, Culver-Stockton College, Columbia College, Hanibal LaGrange, and Kishwaukee Community College.
Cassandra Contreras led the Eagles with a 4th place finish, firing a single round of 86. Teammate Bailey Stefanski posted at Top-finish with a score of 98. Erika Whitaker, Ashley Ritter, Caitlyn King rounded out the top five golfers for Central Methodist. Sara Schneck and Natasha Provinse also competed for the Eagles. Altogether, the Eagles finished with a team score of 404.
Haleigh Berrey of Columbia College won the individual event with a one-round score of 82. Columbia College also took the team title with an overall score of 345.
CMU will conclude its fall season at The Fall Preview on Oct. 5 and 6 at The Golf Club at Creekmoor in Raymore, Mo.
