Among the golfers honored, Central Methodist University had three players earn the honor of being named a scholar-athlete. The three players from CMU that were honored were: junior Jamie Gisburne (Arlington, Tex.), sophomore Alexis Hagemeyer (St. Charles, Mo.), and sophomore Kaitlyn Rogers (Carl Junction, Mo.).
"All three of these young ladies, Jamie Gisburne, Alexis Hagemeyer and Kaitlyn Rogers have contributed greatly to our CMU campus life," said CMU head golf coach Jim Ray Kluck. "They all have played varsity golf; some have dual majored, and they all have been leaders within the student body at CMU. Some have even participated in sorority life, and still maintained above a 3.5 GPA. This speaks very well to these young ladies' dedication to their educational goals. I certainly applaud their efforts both in the classroom and on the golf course. Congratulations to each of these ladies and their families. Job well done!"
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status.
