Lady Eagles Move Up Two Spots To #13
Fayette, Mo. The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced their ninth regular season edition of the Division 1 Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll on Tuesday afternoon. Central Methodist University moved up from tied for 15th, to 13th in the latest NAIA D1 Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

"We clinched the conference title, that is what is important to us," said CMU associate head coach Greg Ray. "Our goals have been and continue to be to clinch a conference title, get a birth to the National Tournament, and finish out the season as strong as we can."

Overall, Central Methodist holds a record of 24-2 overall and 19-1 in The Heart. CMU has clinched at least a share of the Heart of America Athletic Conference regular season title and they have clinched a berth to the NAIA National Tournament.

Last Wednesday, the Lady Eagles went on the road and defeated 5th ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University 71-59, for the second time this season. Central Methodist returned home this past Saturday to rout Graceland University 100-60. The Lady Eagles finish off the 2015-16 regular season this week with a game against William Penn on Wednesday, followed by a road contest on Saturday at #18 Benedictine College.

Other Heart of America Athletic Conference teams that appeared in this week's poll include: MidAmerica Nazarene University (10th); down five spots following their loss last week to CMU, Benedictine College (18th); up two spots from last week, Baker University (RV), and Culver-Stockton College (RV).

"We are going to focus and get ready for William Penn and then at the end of the season however it shakes out, it shakes out," added Ray. "We are ready to go into this conference tournament and the National Tournament."

The 13thranked Lady Eagles close out the home portion of their regular season schedule on Wednesday, when they host William Penn University at 5:30pm. The Eagle men's game against #11 William Penn will follow at 7:30pm inside of Puckett Field House. It is Faculty/Staff Appreciation night and it will also be a "White Out" inside of Puckett.
