Des Moines, Iowa - The Central Methodist men's cross country teams concluded the 2022 season at the Heart Championships Saturday afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa. 

The men's 8K race featured 133 total runners from 13 different schools from around the Heart. Central posted a ninth-place finish at the event with 199 total points. 

Grand View ran away with the event, placing all five runners in the top seven to win the team championship. Benedictine placed second with 83 points followed by Mount Mercy in third with 96 points. 

Sophomore Meshack Kiptanui was Central's highest finisher, placing 19th in a time of 26:56.38 in the 8K. Shawn Kiptoo followed in 31st place in 27:34.17. 

Doriye Jackson (46th, 28:08.62), Grant Engel (53rd, 28:24.92), Zy'Shonne Cowans (82nd, 29:35.98), and Elliott Reed (86th, 29:39.59) rounded out Central's top runners.
