Columbia, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Cross Country team competed in the Gans Creek Classic Friday morning in Columbia, Mo. 

The men's 8K featured 150 runners from 14 different institutions, which included six NCAA Division II schools. Central posted a 13th place finish at the event. 

Senior Shawn Kiptoo ran the 8K in a time of 25:49.6 to finish 22nd, the 10th best time in CMU history. Sophomore Meshack Kiptanui also ran well with a time in 26:16.5, good for 14th all-time in program history. 

Grant Engel, Zy'Shonne Cowans, and Exavier Coburn rounded out Central's top five runners. 

Washburn University won the event with 31 total points, followed by Emporia State (103), and St. Mary (118).
