ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Central Methodist men's cross country team finished 12th of 28 teams at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational on Friday evening.

"It was a great team race for us. We had personal bests and all-time bests all throughout our top seven. It was a lot of fun to watch them race," said Coach Nelson. "I was particularly excited about Radovan Kemboi (SO/Eldoret, Ken.) and Elliot Knernschield (JR/Jefferson City, Mo.) each recording times that rank them in the Top 15 of our all-time cross country list (Kemboi was 8th and Knernschield was 14th). I'm very proud of our group of guys, but we're going to have to continue to improve if we want to achieve our goals for the end of the year."

Radovan Kemboi led the Eagles with a time of 25:46, earning 11th place. Elliot Knernschield came in at 33rd with a 26:30 finish. Those times earned the runners an 8th and 14th all-time finish at Central Methodist, respectively.

Graham Lemmons (SO/Victoria, Texas) (101st, 27:42), Trevor Roebke (JR/Strafford, Mo.) (165th, 28:35), and Joseph Bruemmer (JR/Jefferson City, Mo.) (190th, 28:57) rounded out the top five runners for Central Methodist. Nathaniel Quick (FR/Fulton, Mo.) finished at 29:15 and Anthony Giancola (SO/Sullivan, Mo.) came in at 30:11.

The Eagles will return to action Saturday, Oct. 6, to host the Gary Stoner Invitational.
