BALDWIN CITY, Kan. ---- The Central Methodist men and women's cross country teams wrapped up the 2017 season at the Heart of America Athletic Conference meet, where freshman Lisa Sauter qualified to compete at the national tournament in Vancouver, Wash. on November 18.

The men's cross country team finished fifth in the meet, and narrowly missed qualifying for nationals as a team. Impressively, the first five runners for the Eagles finished just thirty five seconds apart, for the best 1-5 split this season by the team.

Graham Lemmons (18), Radovan Kemboi (19) and Elliot Knernschield (20) led the way for the men's team, as each runner finished just one second after the other. Michael Neeley (25) and Joseph Bruemmer (28) rounded out the top five for the Eagles. As a team, the men placed fifth out of 13 teams, and were 16 points away from qualifying for the national meet.

On the women's side, Sauter led the Eagles with her 12th place finish. She finished high enough to qualify for the national meet, and will represent Central Methodist in Vancouver.

Following behind Sauter, was Shannon Feurt (32), Abby Cross (49), Brooke Van Voorhis (62) and Camrie Feinberg (66). The Eagles finished seventh in the 14-team field with a 2:29 1-5 split.
