Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The Central Methodist University men's cross country team ran into some stiff competition on Saturday afternoon at the 2016 NAIA Seminole Valley Stampede; hosted by Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Eagles finished Saturday's race in 20th place as a team, out of 25 total teams.
Central was led Saturday by freshman Elliot Knernschield (FR/Jefferson City, Mo.), who finished in 77th place overall with a time of 27:23. Michael Neeley (JR/Kansas City, Mo.) finished in 96th place with a time of 27:45, and senior Doug Hutcherson (SR/Clinton, Mo.) hit a personal record, with a total time of 28:15. Hutcherson averaged five minutes and 41 seconds per mile.
The Eagles are next in action on November 5th, when they take part in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships in Kansas City, Missouri; hosted by Avila University.
