Men Win Opener Against Westminster
Fayette, Mo. The Central Methodist University men's cross country team began their 2015 season this past Saturday in a home meet with Westminster College. CMU came out victorious 25-34 and have five of their runners place in the top seven.

"Our men were down a couple of runners today, but I thought�they accepted the challenge I gave them last night," said CMU head coach Mark Nelson.�"They competed hard off of a couple of pretty tough weeks of practice, and I am excited to see what they can do when we move up to the 8k distance in a few weeks."

Glen Tuebner won the race from Westminster College with a time of 16:43.18. Brett Davis had the highest finish for the Eagles, in third place with a time of 17:06.32.

Tyler Meierarend finished in fourth place with a time of 17:25.81, Michael Neeley in fifth place at 17:33.67, Gage Lemmon in sixth place with a total time of 17:45.85 and Cody Klemp in seventh place with a time of 18:10.39.

Other finishers included Rodes Ratliff (18:14.38), Douglas Hutcherson (18:14.72), and Austin Jones (19:27.46).

The Eagles will next be in action on September 19th, when they travel to Joplin, Mo., to compete in the Southern Stampede.
