LAWRENCE, Kan. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that Central Methodist's Ryan Farrell is among 224 men's cross country student-athletes that have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Farrell, a junior from Sedalia, Mo., finished fifth on the team and 20th overall at the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) Championship on November 9 in a time of 29:27.82.
Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) leads all institutions with 11 individuals on the list.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
