Three CMU Runners Medal at Graceland Yellowjacket Classic
The Central Methodist University men's and women's cross country teams had three individuals finish in the top 15 at the Graceland Yellowjacket Classic Saturday afternoon. The CMU women finished second as a team, while the CMU men did not compete as a team.

On the women's side, Central Methodist finished as the runner-up in the team standings with 80 points. University of Nebraska-Omaha won the team title with 40 points.

Freshman Katelyn Olvera (Marshall, Mo.) led the CMU women, clocking a time of 19 minutes 57 seconds on the 5K course to finish fifth out of 88 runners. Junior Amber Beaverson (Moberly, Mo.) also earned a medal for CMU, placing 12th with a time of 20:20. Sophomore Elise Schreiber (Jefferson City, Mo.) ran a season-best time of 20:37 to place 16th.

Junior Tabatha Dickey (Fayette, Mo.) and sophomore Adriana Romero (Redwood City, Calif.) finished 23rd and 24th with times of 21:04 and 21:06, respectively. Junior Taylor Beaverson (Moberly, Mo.) was right behind Dickey and Romero, finishing in 21:20 to place 27th. Senior Deanna Quisenberry (Holden, Mo.) and freshman McKenzie Molette (Lebanon, Mo.) finished 42nd and 57th in times of 22:03 and 22:48, respectively, to round out the CMU women's finishes.

In the men's race, junior Colby Lapresi (Geneva, N.Y.) raced to a 10th-place finish with a time of 27:08 on the 8K course to earn a medal. Freshman Bryan Groeper (Warrenton, Mo.) and senior Anthony Kiprono (Nairobi, Kenya) also competed for the CMU men, finishing 33rd and 57th with times of 29:34 and 32:14, respectively.

The CMU cross country teams will have two weeks off to prepare for the Heart of America Athletic Conference championships. The HAAC championships will be hosted by Central Methodist at the Fayette Golf Course on Nov. 5.
