Davenport, Iowa - The Central Methodist men's wrestling team competed in two Heart of America Athletic Conference duals, falling to nationally ranked Grand View before rebounding with a dominant victory over St. Ambrose as part of the Heart Conference duals Saturday in Davenport, Iowa. 

CMU faced a tough challenge against perennial powerhouse Grand View. Central Methodist's lone victory came at 141 pounds, where Arojae Hart earned an impressive 16-2 major decision over Luke Fogleman. Grand View claimed victories in the remaining seven bouts, including two falls, two technical falls, and two decision. 

Central responded in strong fashion in its second dual of the day, rolling past St. Ambrose 35–3. The Eagles won nine of the ten bouts.

CMU got off to a fast start with Warren Taylor (125) earning a major decision and Gavin Alexander (133) adding a close decision. Key momentum swings came with bonus-point wins from Drake Jenkins (165, major decision), Roman Garcia (174, fall), and Austin Foye (285, fall). Victories from Alex Walker, Brayden Forman, Griffin Ray, and Jacob Ruff helped seal the convincing conference win.

Additionally, Central competed in the Heart Conference Open, which was also hosted on the St. Ambrose campus in Davenport. 

The Eagles were led by a pair of individual champions and a third-place finisher to highlight the day's performances.

At 125 pounds, Brian Hill recorded two falls on his way to first place, opening the tournament with a pin in 1:20 and closing with another fall in 2:37. 

CMU found even more success at 149 pounds, placing two wrestlers on the podium. Landon Morris claimed the championship after an impressive tournament that included a first-round fall, a major decision in the semifinals, and a decisive 12–7 win in the finals. Morris led all CMU wrestlers in team points scored during the event.

Also at 149, Blake Eads battled back through the consolation bracket to earn a third-place finish. After a narrow sudden-victory loss in the quarterfinals, Eads responded with two decisive wins, including a victory in the third-place match to secure his spot on the podium.
