Graceland Clips No. 13 Central in Lamoni Tuesday Night

Lamoni, Iowa — The No. 13 Central Methodist men's wrestling team narrowly fell to Graceland in a tightly contested men's wrestling dual Tuesday night in Lamoni, Iowa. 

After an early setback at 125, Gavin Alexander (133) put CMU on the board with a dominant victory by a 15-2 major decision. Graceland regained momentum at 141, but Alex Walker (149) responded immediately, earning a win via fall in just 55 seconds.

Graceland picked up crucial points through a forfeit at 157 and a medical forfeit at 165, pushing the Eagles into a deficit. CMU battled back as Roman Garcia (174) secured a win by fall at 4:59, and Griffin Ray (184) added an victory as a result of an 11-5 decision.

At 197, Graceland extended its lead with a high-scoring decision. Garine Gibson (285) delivered a 10-0 major decision, but the Eagles ultimately came up short in the team scoring.

Central will next compete at the Heart Conference Duals Saturday, Dec. 13 on the campus of St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
