Baldwin City, Kan. - The Central Methodist Men's Wrestling program competed in the Dan Harris Open Sunday afternoon on the campus of Baker University in Baldwin City, Kan.
The event featured wrestlers from 15 different schools from Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa, and Texas.
Central finished the day with five wrestlers earning top four finishes, including a 1-2 finish from Treyvon Ward and Elijah Hynes in the 197-pound bracket.
Both wrestlers rattled off four consecutive victories throughout the day, setting up an all CMU championship match. Hynes ultimately came away victorious, defeating Ward by sudden victory, 3-1 to land atop the podium with a perfect 5-0 record.
Sophomore Colton King placed fourth in the 125 pound weight class, as did Jason Shaw at 133 pounds and Brenden Shelton at 285 pounds.
The Eagles will face off against No. 1 nationally ranked Grand View Thursday, Nov. 10 for a dual beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Des Moines, Iowa.
