Fayette, Mo. - In a historic moment for CMU wrestling, sophomore 197-pound grappler Trevor Bodine earned the program's first ever Heart Wrestler of the Week honor, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
The Centralia, Mo. native improved his over record to 9-2 after three straight wins last week. Against (RV) Baker University, Bodine defeated No. 11 nationally ranked Brett Bober by Fall at 4:52, and in a match up with No. 10 Graceland, Bodine once again claimed victory by Fall at 4:52 over John Schuttler. The last matchup of the week for Bodine came in a dual against (RV) William Penn where he defeated Dylan Comstock by Fall at 1:20.
Bodine was also apart of Central's historic win last night against Oklahoma Wesleyan, as the Eagles won the first NAIA dual in program history with a 28-11 victory over OKWU. In his match, Bodine defeated Trent Owens by an 8-4 Decision to earn his 10th win of the season.
The men's wrestling team will be back in action on Thursday, January 28 at 6:30 p.m. for a triangular against Saint Mary and Heart rival Missouri Valley.
