Hastings, Neb. - The Central Methodist men's wrestling team began the New Year with a trip to Hastings, Neb. to compete in the Hastings Open on Saturday. 

Fifteen different Eagles competed in the 13 team tournament, including two grapplers earning Top-3 finishes. Sophomore Alexander Drmac finished in second place in the 197-pound weight class after rattling off three-straight wins en route to an appearance in the championships bout. 

After falling in the first match of the day and receiving a bye in the second round, sophomore Brenden Shelton won his next six matches, five via by fall, to earn a third-place finish in the 285-pound class.
