Baldwin City, Kan. - The Central Methodist men's wrestling team squared off against (RV) Baker University Thursday night in Baldwin City, Kan., falling to the Wildcats by a score of 33-21. 

The dual was also part of a Heart conference triangular which featured William Penn University in addition to Baker and Central Methodist, with the Wildcats and Central taking part in the second dual. BU claimed the first two matches at 133-pounds and 141-pounds, both by fall to take a 12-0 lead over CMU. The Eagles matched Baker, earning wins in the 149-pound and 157-pound weight classes by forfeit, evening the dual score at 12-12. 

After a forfeit at 165-pounds, Baker rattled off back-to-back wins by technical fall and a major decision. 197-pound grappler Trevor Bodine earned a win for CMU against Baker's Kenny Hartzell by an 11-8 decision, trimming the Wildcats' lead over Baker to 27-15. Brenden Shelton won his second-straight match by Fall against Ethan Dean of Baker at 2:04 in the 285-pound bout, earning six points for the Eagles. 

After back-to-back exhibition matches at 285-pounds, the final match of the evening featured Baker's Ryan Mitchell and CMU's Jesus Plasencia. Mitchell won the final bout of the dual over Plasencia by Fall at 1:52. 

The Eagles will take the holiday break off before returning to action against No. 1 nationally ranked Grand View University and No. 4 Linsdey Wilson (Ken.) in a triangular on Friday, Jan. 8 beginning at 6:00 p.m. inside Puckett Fieldhouse.
