Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist wrestling team opened up the conference portion of their season against Benedictine College, falling to the Ravens by a score of 27-18 Thursday night inside Puckett Fieldhouse. 

Freshman Jesus Plasencia started the evening off for CMU with a 7-4 victory by decision over Johnny Hua at 125-pounds to give the Eagles an early 3-0 lead in the dual. The Ravens would win the next four weight classes to take a 17-3 lead entering the 165-pound bout. 

Sophomore Trenton Legrotte took down Benedictine's Franco Camarca by Fall at 4:02 in the second period, earning six points for the Eagles and cutting the lead to 17-9. After BC won the next two matches, Trevor Bodine defeated Garrett St. Clair by a 6-0 Decision at 197-pounds, and Brenden Shelton concluded the evening with a win by Fall over Jackson Phillips at 5:39 early in the third period. Central earned nine team points in the final two matches of the evening, making the final score, 27-18 in favor of the Ravens. 

CMU will return to the mat with a tri-dual against Baker University and William Penn on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 5:00 p.m. in Baldwin City, Kan.
