Kansas City, Mo. - Central Methodist senior thrower Taylor Bottomley was recognized as the Heart Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office Monday afternoon.
This marks the fifth Heart Field Athlete of the Week honor for Bottomley. At the Wildcat Open hosted by Culver-Stockton College Saturday, the native of Harrisburg, Mo. competed in the shot put, discus, and hammer throw.
Bottomley finished second in the shot with a mark of 15.80m and fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.40m. In the discus, the senior won the event with a mark of 52.02m, hitting the NAIA 'A' standard qualifying for the NAIA National Championships.
Bottomley and the Eagles will turn their attention to the postseason, as they will next compete in the Heart Outdoor Track and Field Conference Championships, hosted by William Penn May 6-7 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
