Kansas City, Mo. - For the second time this season, Central Methodist senior thrower Taylor Bottomley was recognized as the NAIA National Field Athlete of the Week by the national office Wednesday.
Bottomley was recognized after earning conference honors Monday afternoon.
The native of Harrisburg, Mo. had a monster showing at the Margaret Simmons Invite this past week in Murray, Ky.
Bottomley hit the 'A' standard in three different events including the discus, hammer, and shot put. He posted first-place finishes all three events and broke the school record in both the hammer and shot put with throws of 60.40 and 17.35 meters respectively.
Bottomley and the Eagles will next host the CMU Invite April 1-2 at Davis Field.
