Kansas City, Mo. - After setting a new school record at the Friends Invitational, Central Methodist senior thrower Taylor Bottomley was tabbed as the Heart Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week by the conference office. 

Bottomley broke his own record in the weight throw with a mark of 20.21 meters, more than four meters better than second place. 

He also placed first in the men's shot put with a throw of 16.15m, putting him above all 23 competitors.

Central will next compete in the Dutch Athletics Classic Saturday, Jan. 15 in Pella, Iowa.
