St. Louis, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Soccer program took a break from conference action with a quick trip to St. Louis Tuesday afternoon.
CMU defeated Health Sciences and Pharmacy by a final score of 5-0. With the win, the Eagles improve to 6-2-4, while the Eutectics drop to 1-10 on the season.
The Eagles controlled the offensive pace from start to finish, outshooting UHSP 37-3 for the full 90 minutes of action. In the first half, CMU registered 23 total shots and scored all five of their goals in the first 45.
Ilhan Dervisevic led the way with a pair of goals, recording the last two scores for the Eagles in the 29th and the 38th minute of play.
Vincent Stegmiller (6'), Antoine Hurel (7'), and Robin Vandewalle (18') also scored goals for the Eagles. Koen Schimmel finished the night with a pair of assists as did Jackson Wilbers.
Rimon Beyene dished out the assist on the Eagles' third goal of the evening.
Linus Bergsvag played the first 58 minutes in goal, recording two saves. Niccolo Cabras came in relief and played the final 32 minutes of action.
Central will next play No. 13 Grand View University Saturday, Oct. 4 at 1:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
