Olathe, Kan. - The Central Methodist Men's Soccer team fell to No. 3 nationally ranked MidAmerica Nazarene University by a final score of 4-1 Wednesday afternoon in Olathe, Kansas.
With the loss, Central now stands at 2-2-2 and 0-1-1 in the Heart, while the Pioneers improve to 5-0-1 and 2-0 in conference action.
MNU jumped out front with goals in the 29th and 43rd minutes. Leading 2-0 at the break, the Pioneers came out of the locker room and quickly added their third goal of the match in the 52nd minute of action.
Central got on the board less than two minutes later, as Pelayo Suarez scored off the assist from Vincent Stegmiller to cut the deficit to 3-1.
MidAmerica added an insurance goal in 72nd minute to come away with a convincing 4-1 win.
The Eagles struggled to keep pace with MNU's strong offensive attack, recording just five total shots on the afternoon compared to 18 for the Pioneers.
Central will have another tough road test against its second-straight top five opponent in No. 5 William Penn University.
Kickoff is set for Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1:30 p.m. in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
