Fayette, Mo. - The No. 2 Central Methodist men's soccer program concluded its suspended game against Southwestern Christian Thursday afternoon at Davis Field.
The game, which began play on Sept. 8, was suspended at the 28:31 mark of the second half after a medical emergency with an official. At the time of resumption, SWC led Central 1-0.
Central had to work quickly with just under a half hour of game time remaining. CMU tied the match on an own goal by SWC in the 77th minute of play.
Less than three minutes later, Sebastian Bocaz Canales scored off the assist from Alessandro Salvadego to put Central out in front, 2-1. It appeared that CMU was going to secure the second half comeback. But with less than a second on the clock, SWC scored to salvage a 2-2 tie.
CMU finished the match with 14 total shots, including nine shots on goal, compared to just four shots and two on goal for Southwestern Christian.
Bocaz Canales led Central's offensive attack with four shots including three on goal. Guilherme Pereira added three shots, with all coming on goal. Vitor Antelo also tallied three total shots.
The Eagles now stand at 8-0-4 in overall.
CMU returns to conference action with a matchup against Mount Mercy University Saturday Oct. 15 at 4:00 p.m. at Davis Field.
