With the victory, Central Methodist; who are currently receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 Poll, improve to 13-2-2 overall and 7-2-0 in Heart of America Athletic Conference play. With the loss, Avila falls to 3-14 overall and 1-8 in The Heart.

Avila and Central Methodist played a scoreless first half in damp, cool conditions in Kansas City on Tuesday afternoon.
�
The Avila Eagles got the scoring started in the second half, when Jorim Chari found Brandon Brewster for the game's first goal in the 54th minute to give Avila the 1-0 lead.
�
That lead held for Avila until the 84th minute, when Rafael Ortiz-Ferreira scored from inside the box on a pass from Andres Manuel-Chalbaud to tie the match at 1-1.

In the first overtime CMU didn't waste any time, as they struck in the third minute for the game-winner. Richard Osterloh scored off of a corner kick from Rafael Ortiz-Ferreira, to beat Avila goalkeeper Mario Curiale high for the goal.

CMU goalie Ferran Borras-Marques made three saves in the winning effort.

During the match on Tuesday, the NAIA released their weekly Men's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, with the Eagles once again receiving votes. CMU lost some votes in the poll however, with their loss this past Saturday against Grand View. Missouri Valley (5), Baker (7), and MidAmerica Nazarene (9) are the teams currently in the Top 25 from The Heart.
