"A lot of things went well for us tonight," said CMU head coach Alex Nichols. "Of course there were a lot of things we could have done better too. It's really early in the season and we have some things that still need to be cleaned up before we face Ottawa."

With the victory, the Eagles improve to 2-0 on the young season, while Bethel (KS) College falls to 0-2 on the season.

Central Methodist got on the board early Friday, when David Hillmann found the back of the net for his team leading third goal of the season. CMU would tack on another goal before halftime, thanks to an own goal scored by Ottawa to make it 2-0 in favor of the Eagles.

CMU kept at it in the second half, scoring in the 67th minute thanks to Richard Osterloh to make it 3-0 in favor of the Eagles. For good measure, Jesus Morales scored his first goal of the season in the 87th minute to seal the 4-0 victory for CMU. David Hillmann was awarded with an assist on the Morales goal.

Ferran Borras-Marques picked up his second victory in goal this season, while also recording his first shutout of the year.

In the loss for Bethel, the Threshers held to just a couple of shots for the game, while also being marked for five yellow cards.

CMU heads out on the road for a game at Ottawa University on Tuesday evening at 5pm, before returning home on Friday to host Hannibal-LaGrange College at 5pm at Davis Field.
