MARSHALL, Mo. - Missouri Valley defeated Central Methodist 2-0 on Tuesday in Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) action at Gregg-Mitchell Field. The Vikings tallied all their scoring after halftime.

Mora Melquiades broke a scoreless tie in the 46th minute with an assist from Luke Russell to give Missouri Valley (8-3, 3-0) a 1-0 edge. The Vikings added an insurance goal in the 74th minute when Gabriel Nori Rosendo scored with aid from Carlos Berastain Munar.

Tyler Neis and Diego Guzman each had one shot on goal for Central Methodist (7-6, 1-2).�

Vikings' goalkeeper Christos Kontemiris (8-3) played 90 minutes.

Eagles' goalkeeper Carlos Ribera (6-5) recorded two saves in 90 minutes.

Central Methodist travels to Benedictine (Kan.) on Saturday, Oct. 18, for a 7:30 p.m. CT kickoff.
