The two teams played to a scoreless tie during the first half, despite CMU out-shooting Harris-Stowe 11-2 in the period. Senior Scott Alvino (St. Louis, Mo.) broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 58th minute off an assist by senior Mauricio Savioli (Sao Paulo, Brazil). Just more than a minute later Savioli scored his second goal of the season to give CMU a 2-0 lead off a cross from sophomore Murun Altanhuyag (Mongolia).

Central Methodist ended with a 27-5 advantage in shots in the match, including nine shots on goal for the Eagles. CMU improved to 2-2 on the season with the win, while Harris-Stowe fell to 0-3. The Eagles will return to action Friday with a home match against Tabor College at 7 p.m. at Davis Field.
