In the match against Doane, sophomore Murun Altanhuyag (Mongolia) kicked the ball over the goal keeper and it dribbled back into the net in the 44th minute to give CMU a 1-0 lead. The two teams remained without another goal until the 85th minute, when Doane got a goal to tie the score. In the first overtime, CMU had two shots before Savioli kicked in the game-winning goal in the 98th minute to give CMU the 2-1 win.

In Saturday's match at Hannibal-LaGrange, the Eagles gave up a goal in the 24th minute to fall behind 1-0. Altanhuyag got CMU on the board in the 38th minute, but Hannibal-LaGrange answered with another goal 12 seconds later to take the 2-1 lead. Neither team was able to score in the second half as Hannibal-LaGrange won 2-1. CMU had eight shots, including six on goal in the match, while Hannibal-LaGrange finished with 25 shots.

CMU now sits at 1-2 on the season. Central Methodist will be back in action Wednesday when the Eagles face Harris-Stowe State University at 7 p.m. at Davis Field. CMU will then host Tabor College in a 7 p.m. match on Friday.
