Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist Golf duo of Lauren Williams and Garrett Rikel were named to the CSC Academic All-District At-Large Teams earlier this month.
It is the first time either Williams or Rikel have earned the award.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's and Men's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes At-Large honorees in five divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the College Division.
To be nominated for the All-District Team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, be a starter or important reserve, and hold at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average at their current institution.
Academic All-District honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
NCAA, NAIA and College Division Women's At-Large Academic All-America® First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The Men's At-Large Teams will be announced on Wednesday, July 9.
Both Williams and Rikel earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors and each played in a number of tournaments over the fall and spring seasons, including the Heart of America Championships this past April.
