Men's Golf Cracks National Rankings at No. 24

Kansas City, Mo. - After beginning the season with three first-place finishes, the Central Methodist men's golf program is ranked No. 24 in the first edition of the NAIA Men's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll.

Mount Mercy is the only other school from the Heart of America to be featured in the national rankings, as the Mustangs are receiving votes.

So far this season, the CMU men have competed in five total tournaments, placing in the top-two in four of the five. In September alone, Central won the CMU Fall Invitational, the William Woods Invitational, and the Big Muddy Shoot Out.

The Eagles most recently posted a second-place finish at the Columbia College Cougar Classic in nearby Columbia, Mo.

Central will next compete at the Heart of America Conference Preview at The Preserve, Oct. 24-25 in Moravia, Iowa.

To view the poll methodology and the complete Top 25 poll, please see below.

Poll Methodology
• The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
• Each conference is represented by one rater.
• The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
• The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
• Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes.
