SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Jacob Williams tied for 12th overall, leading Central Methodist to a 10th place finish after the final day of the Evangel (Mo.) Spring Invitational at Rivercut Golf Course. The Eagles' team of five carded a 328 on Tuesday to total 680 in two days on the Par-72 course.
Williams fired an eight-over 80 on Tuesday to finish the tournament with a 157. Brendan Ross shot a six-over Tuesday, 12 strokes better than the first round, to tie for 34th with a 168. Austin Rapp shot 12 strokes better than Monday and placed 43rd with a 174 (93-81). Greg Pitzer shot nine strokes better than the day before to finish 56th with a 187 (98-89). Jordan Haag was 57th after posting a two-day score of 188 (92-96).
Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) won the team portion after totaling a 604 (303-301). Renen Sahr of Midland (Neb.) won the tournament after carding a 145 (75-70).
Central Methodist will participate in the Missouri Valley Spring Invitational April 6-7 at Indian Hills Golf Course.
