BOONVILLE, Mo. - The Central Methodist men's and women's golf teams are hosting the Eagle Open today and Tuesday at the Hailridge Golf Course. The tournament is an 18-hole, Par-71 course.
"Today went well," Central Methodist men's golfer Ty Lieberman, who fired a team-low 73 on the first day, said.�"Overall, I'm very pleased with my round. I'm also pleased with how the team performed. We had a good showing and proved our strength in the conference."
Lieberman and Jack Jackson of Missouri Baptist are tied for first overall. For the Central Methodist "A" Team, Brad Howell was second on the Eagles' squad with a 77. Nathaniel Oliver fired a 78, with Andrew Behrle and Tyler Peasel recording an 80 and 85, respectively.
On the women's side, Central Methodist women's golfer Jessie Norton shot a team-low 92 on Monday. Kelli Esquivel and Kayla Esquivel shot a 100 and 104, respectively. Mallorie Renth came up with a 122 after the first day.
Lindsey Johnson and Naomi Starr of William Woods are tied for the individual lead on the women's side after Monday. Each player shot a 78.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday beginning at 9 a.m. CDT.
