Lady Eagles Finish Fourth at HAAC Golf Championships
The Central Methodist University women's golf team closed its season by finishing fourth in the team standings at the Heart of America Athletic Conference championships Monday and Tuesday in Belton, Mo.

CMU was in fifth place after shooting a 401 on the first day of the tournament. The Lady Eagles came back with a 371 on day two to finish five strokes ahead of Missouri Valley College for fourth place overall. Lindenwood University won the team championship with a 696 two-day total.

"We did quite well overall and were vastly improved the second day," Head Coach Jim Ray Kluck said.

Junior Rachel Keim (Carterville, Ill.) shot a two-day total 167 to finish as the HAAC individual runner-up, earning All-HAAC honors as a top-eight finisher. Freshman Shawn Beard (Moberly, Mo.) just missed All-HAAC recognition, finishing 10th overall with a 184. Freshman Kelli Esquivel (Marshfield, Mo.) also placed in the top 20 for CMU, finishing in a tie for 19th with a 195 total, while freshman Morgan Branch (Jefferson City, Mo.) tied for 28th with a 226.
