Fayette, Mo. - Central Methodist Vice President for Student Life and Athletics Natasha Wilson has named Matt Fohn as the interim head coach of the Eagle Envy Dance team.
"We are extremely excited to have Matt lead our Dance program," said Wilson. "His experience as a former student-athlete at Central and his current involvement as a choreographer for high schools in the state of Missouri will greatly benefit our program."
Fohn served as a graduate assistant for both the Eagle cheer and dance programs in 2020-21 and was most recently hired as an admissions representative at Central.
A native of Lebanon, Mo., Fohn majored in education while attending Central, graduating in the spring of 2020. During his time at CMU, he competed with the dance program, captaining the team his senior year and earning NAIA Honorable Mention All-America honors.
"I am so excited for this opportunity," said Fohn "I'm honored to continue the standard of excellence for the team that was set by Coach Parisi; both in the classroom and on the sideline/national's floor."
When not at Central, Fohn spends his time working as a designer for Independent Winter Guard in Iowa and a freelance choreographer for high schools in southern Missouri.
"Going into 2021, I feel we are set up for nothing short of a successful year," when Fohn was asked about his outlook for the 2021-22 season. "I have 26 dancers on the roster, we will be performing two routines (Jazz and Hip Hop) at NDA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida this coming April, and will continue to support both athletic and community events on campus and within the Fayette Community."
Fohn is currently working on earning a master's degree in athletic administration from Central.
